Recently, major progress has been witnessed on the AMUFERT Fertilizer Project in Soyo, Angola, which is executed by CNCEC-WUHUAN as the EPC contractor. The first dynamic compaction unit of the project has been assembled, commissioned and accepted. Trial compaction work at an energy level of 12,000 kN·m for the project site has been officially launched, marking its formal entry into the main construction phase.
The AMUFERT Fertilizer Project is the first large-scale fertilizer project in Angola. Located in Soyo City, Zaire Province, Angola, the project plans to build a natural gas-based fertilizer plant with a daily production capacity of 2,300 tons of ammonia and 4,000 tons of urea, together with supporting utility systems, auxiliary facilities and off-site facilities.
Successful completion of the project will help Angola achieve food sovereignty, effectively ease the country’s long-term dependence on imports, and exert a far-reaching impact on ensuring food security, promoting modernization of agriculture and advancing its diversified economic development.
