Recently, the "Zhongneng Beihai" carrier loaded with 72,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Australia arrived at the Huaying LNG terminal in China’s Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province, and the first ship loading and unloading was successfully completed, marking the beginning of official operation for Phase 1 of this LNG terminal project.
This LNG terminal is located in China's Guangdong Province, which accounts for 1/8 of the country's economic aggregate. The province is the basis for Beijing's creation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which is intended to be shaped into China's most economically prosperous region and serve as a driver of growth in the country's inland area. To meet the rapidly growing demand for clean energy in the Greater Bay Area, China's strong private capital invested in the construction of this large-scale LNG terminal with a scale of 6 million tons per year. WUHUAN(under CNCEC), one of the best engineering companies in the field of LNG project construction in China, has completed the construction of this first phase as its EPC Contractor, and the second phase of the LNG terminal with an annual capacity of 8 million t/a is under planning.
