Empowered by the New Process! Remarkable Reduction in CO2 Emissions Accomplished by China's Traditional Chemical Plant

Recently, WUHUAN (under CNCEC) conducted important cooperation with Hebei Dongguang Chemical Co., Ltd. by successfully signing an EPC contract for the upgrading and remodeling of the latter’s 540,000 tons/year urea plant.

One of the project highlights is the application of the "High-Efficiency Urea Synthesis Process Technology" independently developed by WUHUAN. This technology, through systematically optimizing the process flow of the existing production units, achieves efficient recovery and utilization of CO2 resources while ensuring production capacity. Estimates show that once put into operation, this project can recover 396,000 tons of CO2 annually. Compared with the existing process, its CO2 emission stands to be reduced by 90 million m3, demonstrating remarkable effects in energy conservation and emission reduction.

The "High-Efficiency Urea Synthesis Process Technology" not only reflects WUHUAN's profound accumulation in the field of chemical technology innovation, but also provides a replicable and promotable model for the green development of the traditional chemical industry. The progression of such upgrading and remodeling will effectively reduce the carbon emission intensity of the enterprise, assist in achieving green and low-carbon transformation, and also provide strong support for China's chemical industry to realize the "carbon peak & carbon neutralization" goals and promote sustainable development.
